Quite good, but your problem with screen moving up & down still persists. What program, engine did you use to make the game?

LucasCCB responds:

I use Construct 3, I sought support for this problem and still nothing, I need to fix this problem so that future games are not boring

I agree with @Plasmarift that having the screen constantly moving up and down is annoying and you should lock the screen. As for loading issues: I played it on Firefox and the game worked without any problems.

LucasCCB responds:

I really don't know what's going on, I don't know why the screen moves up and down, it must be a problem in the scroll bar of the site

Very good game! I only agree with Hylarn about the auto-shooting. I never liked games involving button-mashing, there is no need to destroy that poor z-button. Besides, in the game's current state the number of fireballs upgrade makes no sense, because your fire rate depends solely on how fast you spam the z-button.

Franuka responds:

Thanks for the feedback!
Currently there's a limit to how many fireballs there can be on screen at once. At close range this doesn't matter, but at long range the upgrade becames useful. I agree it could be better (a mana system for example), but I wanted to leave it as is for now for the sake of keeping it simple. I'll surely add something like that on the next release, in the future :)

It;s a good game, but the medals fail to work for me. Also the saving system sucks: I saved the string, but every time I try to load the game I get this error:

CarsonKompon responds:

Hm, I haven't had an issue with loading saves as long as the full save was properly copied. Will take a look into it when I get home tonight and update the game accordingly. DM me a pastebin of the save so I can have a better idea as to what's going on.

Nod bad, one question though: why not "w" for jumping? Space is a bit inconvenient in this case.

AndarooGames responds:

Good feedback! I'll make the changes you suggested today.

The game is good, but has a huge problem with unlocking medals:
1. I beat all the spring with all stars - no medals unlock;
2. I reloaded the game for no result.
3. Then I tried to beat all the spring again, but that did not do anything either.
4. Being "a bit" angry already I played the whole spring in incognito mode of the browser and at least it gave me the medal for beating that season...
It does not encourage to play the game further...
It is annoying and should be fixed using a feature that re-sends the medals.

FutureCopLGF responds:

Cheers for the feedback; sorry again for the issues with the medals, would've loved to fix it but unfortunately it would've had the downside of wiping save files. I will definitely implement the medals and saves better in future!

Interesting, but lots of the times I keep asking why if I am closer to the ceiling than the floor after spin I am not moving towards the ceiling?

Also: lots of the times I am just going through a heart without picking it.

PS

Judging from your time the medal for 2 minutes speedrun is not working. As for others: I completed the game with all hearts, the medal for this unlocked properly, but the one for finishing the game did not. I just replayed the game and finished it, this time with only 1 heart collected but again it did not trigger the first medal. Again: I completed the game without collecting any hearts and the medal still did not work.

being-brin responds:

Not entirely sure what situation you are describing. These are magnets, so you need to match them up correctly to move towards them, additionally there is a very slight force of gravity added to the game as otherwise you could very easily get stuck in nothingness.

I decided to delete my old review, leaving a part of it that relates to the thing that still has not been addressed or fixed, to make it leave you a fresh notification. But there is much more important thing that needs to be addressed.

It's about the lag. You've got a massive MEMORY LEAK in your game that is causing the lag. How do I know that? After passing several caves the plugin container of my Firefox was already storing some 1-1,5 GB of data! After few minutes of struggle to close the browser not only the Firefox stopped responding, but your game even made my computer barely working. You HAVE to fix this because otherwise your game is simply dangerous to computers and can DAMAGE them! If you can't seek for help from the community and if you still will not be able to do it - remove the game.

Old part of the thing that has not been fixed: The game looks interesting and has its mood, but unfortunately has some flaws. And probably all of them are related to controls that are not as responsive as they should be. The jumping mechanics is problematic. And very often when you run down a \ type slope the character fails to jump. The same happens when you press up and right/left at the same time: the character will move left/right but will not jump.

I noticed that it has been pointed out by several users, but you did nothing about it.

ImmanentDeath responds:

I guess that means the menu option to switch to text UI didn't help much. I don't know if that's what you were using but you're still right either way. So I'll go through the game again and see what I can do. And I'll include a memory leak warning at the start as well.

I'm not going to fix the jumping mechanic, because as far as I can tell it's not broken. I've played through the game several times without issues, and I've seen other people play it without problems as well. I guess it's my fault for making these jumps a little pixel perfect and adding that level of difficulty, but they're all very doable. And the slope mechanics are just a consequence of the astronaut's behavior when he interacts with them. When I discovered these interactions, I decided to make them a part of the game because I thought they were interesting, and that they added a bit of spice to the game. You have to jump off the downward slope before you start moving right or left. I'm sorry if it frustrates you, it just take a little bit of practice.

I'll be honest, I kinda gave up on this game a while ago. I wasn't sure what to do with it because it looked like a lot of people liked it, and a lot of people didn't. Like I said, though, I'll take another look at it.

Nice game! It's just too easy, you can beat all the stages without buying any upgrades at all. Maybe add some extra challenges for the infinity mode?

Jordio94 responds:

Appreciate the feedback. It does continue to get progressively harder past the initial stages, but yeah, it could probably do with an extra something to ramp up the difficulty once you reach infinity.

Arrow keys controls would be much better, I definitely don't like this scheme. Besides, there should be a way to still make the boxes disappear even if some of them start landing like for example rotated vs the floor. On one occasion I just jumped out of the screen and could not return and the game simply did not stop.

andrey38739 responds:

I added arrow control. I didn't understand what you mean, but the boxes will not disappear until you put them in a row. Going off screen now stops the game;)
