Interesting, but too many blind jumps. The game's rng is also generating impossible scenarios, many times I even did not begin at all playing because I landed on one of the animals... that should not be happening. Also: 10 000 points with these controls and all things I mentioned? Really?

GoodL responds:

That's fair - although if you're using all 3 layers of platforms you shouldn't run into impossible scenarios. If you're getting animals right at the start though that is a problem and I'll have to take a look at that. Thanks!

Nice new game from you, but with several flaws. I am playing it on an Intel-type CPU and on Firefox and the game certainly has one major issue: during dialogue sequences or opening the bins the game can freeze even for several minutes. For example currently I am waiting for nearly 10 minutes for the game to close the dialogue box after I picked up an item so I can continue playing. And without any export/import save feature I would have to start the game on other browser from the very beginning. It's bad that you did not ensure that the game can be played without problems on both major browsers. Also - as you stated that you want to go for a Kickstarter - do your best so the game could be played on all types of CPUs/GPUs, because if it will be "excluding" the AMD users because of performance problems it can seriously harm your monetization plans.

BigBossErndog responds:

Thanks for letting me know! At least it seems I've narrowed it down to it being Firefox, rather than AMD. It just so happened the first couple of people to report it also had AMD processors. Since then people with Intel CPUs have reported the problem, so the issue must be isolated to Firefox.

Seems to be a strange problem with Phaser 3 as this has not been reported with previous games which all used Phaser 2. I can't replicate this behavior myself, it works fine on my laptop (which is the only device I have to test this on) so this is very difficult to fix.
Thankfully the testers who have encountered this problem have reported that the issue is resolved if they use another browser, such as Chrome.

All I can say to players is to avoid Firefox.

The offline version will hopefully be fine then, because it will be running on NW.js which is Chromium based. None of my testers have had problems running it offline on NW.js.

I will be reporting this issue to both Phaser and Mozilla, and hopefully we can resolve this :)

The game is ok, but as others mentioned there are several problems here:
1. I also died lots of times when touching a rocket after picking up a fire power up;
2. 100 and 200 coins medals are not being awarded at all;
3. I counted the rockets destroyed, but the medal also was not awarded;
4. The scoreboards do not work for me at all;
5. I am also sure that the coding of your game spams the NG API with requests. There is one obvious symptom for that, noticeable from player's side: after you finish a round if you click on high scores or any of the medals nothing happens for even nearly a minute. This is also probably why NG API goes nuts and fails to award most of the medals properly.

evowolfdemon responds:

I have an updated coming soon. Just getting it all sorted out to see if I cant get rid of all the bugs. Fire has been fixed in new version but still working on metals and score board so I have not posted yet. Thank you for the input and I will have e this fixed as soon as I can

Generally not bad, including the fact that I mostly hate flappy games. The only... awkward thing is the inconsistent "height" of a flap. Sometimes you are bouncing sky-high (especially annoying with the first ship) and sometimes you get a "micro-flap" and the changing position of the asteroids can put you in a position when you got almost no chance of avoiding the next ones if you know what I mean, especially when the lower asteroid is in the middle of the screen.

PS

And getting that 1000 points with the last ship is just a matter of pure luck because of the physics of the game. The ship is simply too big and the distances between subsequent pairs of asteroids so small that there is basically no room and time for any maneuverability.

PS for PS

I actually did it, but the medal is not working.

PS FOR ALL COMPLAINING THAT THE GAME IS NOT WORKING:

The game DOES work, both on Firefox and Chrome, just entered it twice. The only thing you need to do is to NOT change the tab when the game is loading, because otherwise the game cursor won't move.

For the future: check all the possibilities before zero-bombing with so much ease.

TwistedByArt responds:

Thanks for playing and leaving your comment! It is really presenting this communication problem with the NG medals, I will correct.

Not bad, a bit annoying sounds and somewhat clunky controls. But I assume that this 500 levels medal is not serious? I doubt that anyone would go for this.

Oh, and just in case: if you will make any update to the game that will erase everybody's progress.

PS

Lots of cheap deaths, slowing down after landing and not being able to turn at this moment and the sight perspective is not necessarily very good. Oh, keyboard controls would be better.

fattail responds:

Hey, thanks for feedback!

Didn't know that updating game erases progress.. That's quite the bummer.

Anyways, that 500 level medal is not serious. Mostly testing things as this is the first time I tried to add scoreboards and medals. I'll make better next time.

A "reset stage" button would be required, after I beat the first enemy the dialogue box did not appear and I am stuck on one screen.

PS

I obviously tried, but the screen was locked.

By the way, the scrolling of the camera is too slow. Several times my character was just going off-screen because the camera was not fast enough to follow him in time.

Oh, the Evil Ryu stage is wayyy too easy.

MetaMike responds:

Okay thanks for the info !

For the purpose of getting the pacifist medal I can already say that the controls are... annoying. You just don't have enough control over that guy and the gravity feels a bit Jupiter-like. The wall jump also sucks a bit. And for the same purpose you went too far with those rats on level 4. As I can see even the authors did not unlock that medal.

Almost f#@&in' had it, but killed the last rat and bounced towards the end!

Important PS:

And of course the game is not saving progress... so if you want to go for special achievements you have to start from the scratch and torture yourself once again...

suVrik responds:

Hey, HerbieG. Thank you for your feedback! We would be really happy if you could tell us how to improve controls, because we don't feel like they're any bad. Saving progress is a great idea, I will add it this evening. Authors did unlock this medal on the local build (and I just unlocked this medal once again on Newgrounds), but I agree that it's very challenging. I did kill the last rat and bounced towards the end once as well, I will fix it. I can see you're upset because of pacifist medal, but I hope you liked the game overall!

1. Awesome game, but the last (I hope) level...
2. Both backspace and enter/space do nothing.

PS

Then you should write it clear, because people may think that it is an "undo move" button and destroy their progress on a level this way.

One note: I finally beaten the last level, not that hard as initially seemed, but I had to do it 2 times, because at the first time the game disconnected from NG and the medal did not pop up. Also reloading the game did not re-send me the medal.

There is also a minor glitch with progress saving: if you for example reach level 20 and reload the game it will put you on level 19.

Rob1221 responds:

I corrected the description to say that B is the back key, but that just goes back to the level select.

Ok, great idea, but... such a big game and no saving? Unforgivable. Besides, after some time of playing it just got disconnected from NG. I should be awarded for 2 more things: digging 100 km and having 100 plants. With this problem I doubt if anybody will earn the final medals.

As for the gameplay: there is too much running around. There should be some setting for a general control, like for example if plants are at age x to y then they are focusing on z, later evolving or spreading etc. I just can't think of a situation where I would have to manage hundreds of plants/bunnies/humans the way it looks like now.

And one more thing: when plants/sprouts/bunnies are too close to each other it is impossible to examine each one of them.

PS

As for saving: what is the "shape" of the generated world? Is it considered by the game as "unlimited"? You could make it so the world would look like a sphere for the player - if you would go to the left far enough digging you would finally end up where you started. But that would be just a visual effect, because in fact the game world could be actually a square with "teleports" on the borders. And if we got a square then the game could remember the x,y values, remember where a plant or a bunny was located. Though I agree that saving the status of the plants would be more problematic.

jacklehamster responds:

Thanks for the feedback. Save is difficult to add to this game, but I'll try to incorporate that in future versions. Note you can save AI now.

Generally a good game. One question though, about the behavior of the cube: why lots of times the cube keeps moving despite I am not pressing one directional key at all or I am already pressing another one?

PS

Seeing NeonSpider's review I came up with this theory: for me the game worked quite well, maybe only a bit slow sometimes, but not to the point of a massive lag. Every level is playable. But indeed the game is slowing down at some points and it may happen that it is reading the keyboard input with a delay-or rather the results of the keys pressed are displayed with a delay, so the cube is moving not because of the key you are currently pressing but because of the key you were pressing parts of a second earlier. This made some levels a bit more difficult, because you actually had to predict the movement of the cube.

MrNannings responds:

Thanks. I don't know why that happens.
