I decided to delete my old review, leaving a part of it that relates to the thing that still has not been addressed or fixed, to make it leave you a fresh notification. But there is much more important thing that needs to be addressed.

It's about the lag. You've got a massive MEMORY LEAK in your game that is causing the lag. How do I know that? After passing several caves the plugin container of my Firefox was already storing some 1-1,5 GB of data! After few minutes of struggle to close the browser not only the Firefox stopped responding, but your game even made my computer barely working. You HAVE to fix this because otherwise your game is simply dangerous to computers and can DAMAGE them! If you can't seek for help from the community and if you still will not be able to do it - remove the game.

Old part of the thing that has not been fixed: The game looks interesting and has its mood, but unfortunately has some flaws. And probably all of them are related to controls that are not as responsive as they should be. The jumping mechanics is problematic. And very often when you run down a \ type slope the character fails to jump. The same happens when you press up and right/left at the same time: the character will move left/right but will not jump.

I noticed that it has been pointed out by several users, but you did nothing about it.

ImmanentDeath responds:

I guess that means the menu option to switch to text UI didn't help much. I don't know if that's what you were using but you're still right either way. So I'll go through the game again and see what I can do. And I'll include a memory leak warning at the start as well.

I'm not going to fix the jumping mechanic, because as far as I can tell it's not broken. I've played through the game several times without issues, and I've seen other people play it without problems as well. I guess it's my fault for making these jumps a little pixel perfect and adding that level of difficulty, but they're all very doable. And the slope mechanics are just a consequence of the astronaut's behavior when he interacts with them. When I discovered these interactions, I decided to make them a part of the game because I thought they were interesting, and that they added a bit of spice to the game. You have to jump off the downward slope before you start moving right or left. I'm sorry if it frustrates you, it just take a little bit of practice.

I'll be honest, I kinda gave up on this game a while ago. I wasn't sure what to do with it because it looked like a lot of people liked it, and a lot of people didn't. Like I said, though, I'll take another look at it.

Nice game! It's just too easy, you can beat all the stages without buying any upgrades at all. Maybe add some extra challenges for the infinity mode?

Jordio94 responds:

Appreciate the feedback. It does continue to get progressively harder past the initial stages, but yeah, it could probably do with an extra something to ramp up the difficulty once you reach infinity.

Arrow keys controls would be much better, I definitely don't like this scheme. Besides, there should be a way to still make the boxes disappear even if some of them start landing like for example rotated vs the floor. On one occasion I just jumped out of the screen and could not return and the game simply did not stop.

andrey38739 responds:

I added arrow control. I didn't understand what you mean, but the boxes will not disappear until you put them in a row. Going off screen now stops the game;)

3 questions/issues:
1. Why the bulldozer has to turn around when trying to push sturdier blocks - and what's even more important - bounce back? This mechanics is just plain dumb.
2. Why does it have to bounce sky-high on the blocks?
3. The brakes really suck.
Overall: I agree with what @3p0ch wrote about controls in this game.

I agree that there should be a pause button. I had to collapse the game to write this review, because otherwise my roommates would all leave my house. The game should also work like this: when you hover the mouse on any button it should show you how much cash do you need for this utility. 2 questions:
1. What is the maintenance team for? They are not tidying or repairing anything.
2. What is the purpose of the ghost tours? I did not notice any benefits from it.
I will update this review while going further with the game.

kygron responds:

Thanks, I look forward to your continued updates. There's an important unlock you only get when enough roommates leave your house, so the game presses you into it. And the ghost tours counteract the negatives of losing roommates (hence the "attract people" description). I'll put something in the description about not being afraid to let go.

Interesting idea, but annoying execution. What I hate the most is the fact that I have to hold a key and then use the arrows to shoot. The way to go would be applying wasd for shooting up/left.down/right, this way I could move and shoot at the same time. carrying drones around is pointless, so as well you could apply a single key for opening the gates without having to move that square frame. Another bad thing is that the game does not have any saving system/checkpoints etc. Keep in mind that pico-8 can disconnect from NG API and without saving the medals will not be rewarded if the connection fails.

Nice another installment of this game and definitely easier than the first one. Good to see you back by the way. Getting the final medal takes "some" time, but the longer you play it the easier it becomes. Not only because you memorize the locations of all the items, but also because of the fact that the game uses limited amount of items. Lots of the times I had to pick an eye, a dollar, a mouse, a cigar, a baseball bat while the game never asked me to pick a skull, a guitar, a skateboard, a cd, a pair of handcuffs and lots of other items, so if you memorize the basic selection of the game - it is quite easy to master.

Wooooooooooooooooooo responds:

Thanks, Glad ya liked it, I tried my best on this one to make it more enjoyable, Good to see you medal hunters have already mastered it aha

Thanks for that "remake"! I still remember having lots of fun playing Sokoban as a kid.

I killed an enemy in the second screen in the area behind Tarjan with the firerang, the enemy has been thrown up on the door, but after dying the door did not open...

PS:

Seriously? What needed to be reworked was... a right-click link, but not the jumping mechanics and controls for example?

And the reworked version "fixes the major flaws in the game"?

No matter how many times I try i cannot get the game to load. It always loads up to a certain percentage, stops, I reload it, it loads a bit more, another reload, then another and another and after it reaches some 75-79% constantly fails to load to 100%.

PS

After fix everything works well.
