Has a potential, but in that "turbo" mode you can barely see where you are going not to mention acting fast enough to avoid the rocks, so reaching those higher multipliers/combos is a bit a matter of luck. Were you thinking of adding some score-based medals?

The game is awesome, BUT: I am taking a whole star out of my score because of one thing - NO SAVING. Keep in mind that not everybody has to have enough time to finish the game in one sitting. The game should save your progress at the beginning of another level, just like it is done in that peril, which is probably the best rogue-like turn-based team game:

and if you die after loading the save it should be deleted to prevent abusing it.
I am on the 4th floor now already and I have to stop playing, so I will have to start from the scratch, because nobody thought of adding saving to the game.

I decided to delete my previous review because the medals are working now. One thing though: you need to find a way to compress the game, decrease its size, because it's a bit ridiculous that such a small game is so large: some 130-140 MB.

Gamerbread445 responds:

I would have loved to, but unfortunately scratch projects tend to get really big when you try to make something less than a simple cookie clicker or simulator. most the enemies only have 2 simple frames of animation because i was trying to preserve the file size of the game

Could use some weapons against that flood of bad fellas at the later stages ;-) And indeed the movement is a bit slow. Another problem is the fact that the square follows the cursor with a delay.

I almost forgot to leave a review for this peril - and I really mean it is THAT good. I don't remember when it was the last time I had so much fun solving a puzzle game. This one is also unique. I like how it forces you to manage your resources, because otherwise you will most likely get stuck. Also on some of the stages there is almost no margin of error.
A pro-tip: not always rushing around and collecting all available resources "in advance" will make you succeed. It is all about finding a proper sequence for entering subsequent areas. On most of the levels you don't need to collect every single crafting material to reach the exit. Also watch out: the stuff you need to craft your tools may change between levels. Oh, the flint stones are crucial.
I really hope you will make more games like this one in the future!

DarkryCZ responds:

Thank you!
This is my first piece with so much work behind it. You were a great help after the launch, since, I must admit it, there were many errors and bugs that I didn't see.
Me, my brother, my whole community and everyone that helped all had fun making it. And you are correct- the game forces you to think in advance and form a strategy (which many people didn't like and I get that). There are multiple ways of solving each level and I am very proud of that. It's never the same.
I will definitely continue with this game and games overall! The name chosen is intentional (hinting that there might be more of "Tiny Escape" series in the future). We will see what the future brings. I am focusing on fixing stuff right now and preparing mobile and Steam release.
Also working on another game, which might come soon ;)

This could be good, but it would need something more to make it more interesting. So far all the boss fights are of the same scheme: running around, finding spots where you can recharge energy again and again, it makes the game a bit boring to be honest.

BlooOwlBaba responds:

Hey thanks for the feedback! I completely agree that there could be more added to the game, but for a prototype-ish first go I just wanted to go with what's currently there. If I ever decide to go big project with this (very likely), there will be an equip based system and some roguelike elements. Again, thanks for the feedback!

That's much more like it in comparison to your previous game! One suggestion: if everything is controlled with keyboard then shooting should be as well. Or give the player an ability to assign an individual set of keys. You could also add an autofire that could be turned on/off.

One more thing: there is something wrong with medals and scores, they currently don't seem to register, although some of the medals popped up for me when I was playing.

Mwape123 responds:

Thank you @HerbieG, I though of giving it an ability to fire using a LEFT mouse button for lasers and Missiles, But I will try to work on that :)

And I will try to work on my previous one as well, still keeping taking everything into consideration :)

I got good news and bad news for you: scores and medals work, but the level progress does not save if you close the tab. Also I think you went a bit too far with the speed of some of the enemies, it's just impossible to get away from them.

Jibberuski responds:

Thanks, it looks like high scores are only working for a couple people. And I guess the level progress isn't working at all. I do see your progress save file though. It's the only one.

I double checked my spreadsheet, and the enemies are never faster than the player. It's easy to fall into a trap where they surround you though. For me, it gets really hard around course 4, but I keep ramping up the difficulty after that, assuming that someone can play better than I can.

Your game has one major flaw that makes me reduce my score by 1 star: it does not re-send the medals you get. I had to stop playing for a longer moment and when I returned to the game it already disconnected from NG. Obviously the game is not saving level progress as well, so I only could hope that I will get the medals after I finish the game and reload it. Well, wrong. Nothing like that happened. You need to address this problem.

KilledByAPixel responds:

Thank you, I am sorry that happened, it is on my radar. I need to figure out why NG is getting disconnected and if it is possible to reconnect. Another option is to store the medals internally and send them to NG. It actually has code for that but it is disabled to give NG the authority and prevent cheating. I'll see what I can do.

EDIT: I updated with a new keepalive system that pings NG every 5 minutes. Let me know if it happens again. Thanks!

It's an interesting project, but 2 things need to be done:
1. You need to fix all the locks, I had to close the game because I could not get off from a sign without reading it all the time;
2. The game just HAS to be saving progress locally, especially in such cases.
