I'll give you an advice: check on one old DOS game called Tie Fighter. It is STILL better than lots of other games of this type. And a perfect example of how (back then!) it was possible to make a the flight fully controlled with the mouse movement.

Cool idea! There is only one problem: I die - the game freezes, I reload the game and after I died again I pressed space and the game stopped responding again.
Not bad overall. The pulse jumping technique could be explained a bit better. And during the ads part looking at all these graphics can make your eyes tired quite fast.
I only hope we will never live in a reality like this. It reminds me the "Black Mirror" series.
Thanks for the kind comment and feedback! We'll try to see how we can introduce the glitch pulse more gradually in the steam version.
I'm happy you got Black Mirror vibes! I love the series and it might have given us inspiration here and there for the writing and themes. I hope for the same and that's why I think that humanity needs warnings like this, not to steer further down the wrong path.
Because your games rather take some time to complete a progress saving system is a must. This also applies to your second game.
The control scheme could be better. For example if up-arrow has no purpose right now then it should be used for jumping instead of space. Or the swing/jump buttons should be placed next to each other, like z+x.
true, I'll see if can patch this after work.
Awesome thing! Withe several really challenging levels and ambitious mechanics. I only noticed few things/would suggest some improvements:
1. The game screen is a bit too big, I had to ctrl- it;
2. After I beat the last level the game just went black, not returning to menu;
3. It would be good to restart a level just by pressing "R" for example, without having to exit to pause menu.
2. Can you give more information (message if necessary)? It should stay on that screen for only a few seconds, then fade into the credits.
3. I'm planning to add that in soon.
It's a good small game that could be easily expanded by adding more missions, maybe enemies and something to spend credits on. 2 notes on the medals though:
1. "Evacuate" doesn't work at all;
2. "Malfunction" works only if you crash your ship after the black hole appears.
Thanks for letting me know. I’ll take a look at the code and see where I messed up.
EDIT: I made a few changes and I was able to unlock the medals as intended, so it appears to be working now. Sorry about that!
Seems an already well-made game. I only hope you can add arrow keys as controls as well. If you do, I'll definitely rise my score.
Since editing a review does not trigger a notification, I'll try it one more time with one add-on :-) Still quite a piece of a good game. I will give you +1 star if you make it possible to choose arrow keys for movement for player 1, I never liked that wasd scheme. For example I gave the same suggestion to the author of this game: https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/807876
Not only he made it possible to swap arrow keys and wasd, but he even made the controls fully customizable! This is how you do it like a pro! :-)
Like @Plasmarift already wrote the problem with the game is not lack of content, but complete lack of communication between the game and the player, lack of proper information. I am an employee, right? So I should know at least for the minimum extent how things work. Several illogical issues:
1. The moment when the eye appears: to some point I can deal with it using the hammer, but during few playthroughs I could use it twice, while the other time just once. And even after I "resolved the problem" for the first time, the eye appeared just 2-3 seconds later, so what's the point in it?
2. I assume that turning from the computer portraits ceasing doing the task, like in real life, but the game gives no clue about it, the player can thing that some of the processes are automatic and can be run "in the background".
3. What's the deal with controlling the temperature? Why sometimes the game refuses to lower the temperature even if I tell it to do so? Why the other times the temperature just rises on its own? And why sometimes clicking on "down" button doesn't do anything at all? Again, no directions.
4. The way the game works: after the monster egg hatched I was "forced" to look at it, nothing happened and the game threw me out to the main menu. When I re-entered the game I saw the hammer again on the desk, but the egg was already hatched and I couldn't not only click on anything, but even move around. Something has to be bugged here.
Now when the jam is over it's a good time to make some improvements.
